Why does the need for reconstruction arise?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\u201cNails don't disappear for no reason. Behind every damage, there is a story.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The most common causes that lead to the need for reconstruction:<\/p>

Tblow (strike, accident, pressure)<\/strong><\/p>

  • Bumps and bruises, tight shoes, falls<\/li>
  • The nail dark<\/li>
  • Very often in athletes, especially footballers, runners and hikers<\/li><\/ul>

    \u201cMy nail lifted after the blow and never grew back properly.\u201d<\/p>

    Fungal infections (onychomycosis)<\/strong><\/p>

    • One of the most common causes<\/li>
    • The nail becomes thickened, yellow, brittle, and can eventually partially or completely disintegrate<\/li>
    • Following treatment, the appearance often remains permanently altered.<\/li><\/ul>

      Note: <\/strong>Reconstruction doesn't cure fungal infections \u2013 it's an aesthetic solution after (or alongside) dermatological treatment.<\/p>

      Surgical procedures \/ medical causes<\/strong><\/p>

      • Ingrown toenail surgery<\/li>
      • Nail removal<\/li>
      • Chronic inflammation<\/li>
      • Psoriasis, diabetes, autoimmune diseases<\/li><\/ul>

        \u201cAfter the nail was pulled out, it never grew back properly.\u201d<\/p>

        Congenital changes and deformities<\/strong><\/p>

        • Genetically weak or deformed nail<\/li>
        • Uneven growth, indentations, unnatural shape<\/li>
        • Aesthetically unacceptable, but medically \u201enot for intervention\u201c - so the discomfort remains<\/li><\/ul>

          Ageing \/ degenerative changes<\/strong><\/p>

          • In older people \u2013 nails become thickened, yellowish, and crack<\/li>
          • Reconstruction restores a natural appearance, ease of care, and a better feel in footwear.<\/li><\/ul>

            Psychological and emotional causes<\/strong><\/p>

            • Chronic stress and trauma can lead to nail biting, picking, or unconsciously damaging the nail.<\/li>
